Canton Real Estate Market
The median listing price of homes for sale in the Canton real estate market is in the mid $200s, an increase of about five percent over last year. About 60 percent of residents living here are homeowners, and the median rent cost is around $900 per month.
Single family home prices start in the mid $100s for three bedrooms and about 1,200 square feet of living space. Houses showing at the median price point typically feature three to four bedrooms in 1,500 to 2,000 square feet. And at the high end of the housing market are luxury houses priced in the $700s with four or more bedrooms, three or more baths, and more than 4,000 square feet of living space. There are a handful of historic homes for sale, a mix of midcentury ranch-style houses and early-20th century cottages.
Condos and townhome properties make up about 15 percent of the active real estate market in Canton, ranging from two-bedroom condos that start at just under $100,000 to townhomes and row homes in the $300s. Also, there are several undeveloped lots and acreage for sale, from half-acre parcels to lots of more than 30 acres.
Due to its status as a growing suburb of the Detroit metropolitan area, prospective homebuyers will find plenty of active new builder neighborhoods throughout Canton. Pulte is the most prolific builder, developing in neighborhoods including Parkside South, Grandview Estates, the Landings, and River Hill Ridge. Prices range from the upper $200s to the mid $500s.
